Tuya Low Power Consumption MCU Simulation and Debug Assistant Instructions

Tool Introduction

Tuya Low Power Consumption MCU Simulation Debug Assistant simulates MCU data sending and receiving and is connected with the developer’s Wi-Fi module by USB to TTL tool; it has the following uses:

1、 It is used with networking modules, validating whether the Wi-Fi module works. 2、 It can debug app panel displays before the MCU development is complete. 3、 When MCU developers don’t know how to transmit data to/from modules, they can reference the data from the simulation assistant.

Operating Environment

This software should be used in a Windows system installed with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. If it is not installed on your computer, you can visit http://pan.baidu.com/s/1nvLAmdrto download and install.

Hardware Connection

The Wi-Fi module uses a power supply of 3.3V and 400mA; its EN pin is connected with a VCC pin; TX and RX of the USB to TTL tool are connected with RX and TXD of the Wi-Fi module.


1. Import the function debug file

Load schema files. Schema files must be .json files that conform to Tuya Cloud DP commands (these files are packed and downloaded from Tuya Developer Platform)

2. Set an operating mode for the module

Select MCU-Module Co-process as the operation mode.

3. Select a network configuration

Select “Default” as the network configuration.

4. Set serial ports

Open a serial port and select the required serial port numbers. By default, the baud rate is 9600Bp/s, while some products like robotic sweeper are 115200 Bp/s.

5. Start debug

Click “Start” to debug.

6. Data debug

DP data debug: After starting debug successfully, the software will issue commands related to the schema. Transmission rules can be set in “Settings” to meet different requirements.

Request Wi-Fi modules to upgrade firmware

Click “wifi upgrade” for the Wi-Fi module to automatically detect and update firmware.

7. Interactive display of serial port data

When the software receives the data, it automatically parses it and displays the corresponding results based on schema files. After pressing “Save”, the software will automatically save the debug information to logs.txt files in the software file location.
